Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Back on Arsenal’s Radar
Arsenal have their eyes set on one of their former players: Liverpool midfielder, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The 28-year-old Englishman, who joined the Reds from the Gunners for £35 million in 2017, has only made 13 appearances – including two starts – for the club during the 2020-21 season of the English Premier League.
Overall, Oxlade-Chamberlain has played only 286 minutes in total across all competitions last season.
Now, according to recent reports, Arsenal is looking to bring him back to Emirates Stadium on a deal worth less than what Liverpool originally paid him for.
Whether it is permanent or merely on loan, the move could prove to be an advantageous reset for Oxlade-Chamberlain – recouping lost minutes on the playing field will help strengthen his chances to land a spot on the English national team when they participate in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The midfielder’s contract is set to run until June 2023, so he has plenty of time to consider rejoining the Gunners.
